Thpring has thprung!

Getting used to life without a tooth is a fascinating thing to do! Having just had my first tooth out ever (if you don't count the tooth fairy ones), I'm becoming accustomed to having a gappy happy smile... :) Fortunately, it was a straightforward process, and I'm mending well.

The flu has hung on with a vengeance. I'm just starting to get my voice back, although am still husky. However, each time I have the obligatory daily coughing fit (complete with upchuck), I know my vocal progress will be impeded somewhat...

The boy is charging forth with his tidying up, and is really trying very hard to make some kind of inroads into his piles... every now and again I give him a few suggestions, which he then attempts to achieve with great fervour... I think he just doesn't see how much easier it would be for him if he didn't have lots of piles of disorganised junk everywhere... I wonder if I'll ever get him to think like a flylady...

Have spent a good deal of time behind the ironing board this month, playing catch up from when I was really crook. I now have a new customer as well, a nice chap whose wife is enduring a secondary bout of cancer, this time in her brain. They have three boys - they're roughly my age. The man told me the other day that she has had chemo, but that if it did anything, they haven't been able to even measure that! So they have resigned themselves to the fact that Mum is dying slowly, and they are trying to become accustomed to that fact. My heart just broke when I saw the terrible sadness in their eyes.

Which leads me to my next bit of news... we are hosting a Pink Ribbon Day Fundraiser at our house on 26th October - a Pink Picnic! Many of you know about my small efforts with Daffodil Day already... when we heard about this chance to do a bit more, we both grabbed at it.

So if you're in our neighbourhood on Sunday 26th, any time after 9am, we'll be here with Pink Ribbon Day merchandise, pink food, pink fun things to play with... and lots of good cameraderie to share with friends, old and new. Please come and join us!

Tiger is his usual chipper self - always up for some play time and developing new food tastes - this month it has been strawberries!!! Grandpa is getting very good at sprinkling a little icing sugar on one, and slipping it to him under the table :)

Thpring has thertainly thprung in Queensland! I have already started to iron with a fan on, and I daresay the air conditioner will be brought out very soon. Barb and I have started swimming again after my time out with poomonia, and we're loving the warmer days!
